What's Happening at the Library
Our adult summer reading program is going to be fun and easy. It runs from June 11th-July 28th. You will choose from a selection of Tic Tac Toe cards. Each square has a category of books related to this summer's theme which is Libraries Rock! For example, one of the categories is a book with a main character who is a musician. Why not try a biography of your favorite rock star? We have plenty to choose from. You'll read three books to make Tic Tac Toe and then enter to win. You can enter as many times as you wish. Prizes will be awarded July 30th. It's always fun to win something especially when you'd be reading anyway.
This year we are in the mist of our version of a Book-A-Month Club. Each month we choose a new book. All you have to do is read the selection and answer a few very easy questions in order to be entered for a monthly prize drawing. You can read as many or as few of the monthly selections as you would like. You can catch up with books you've missed at any time.
The May selection for our Book-A-month Club is a mystery titled "Magpie Murders" by Anthony Horowitz. It's really two mysteries in one and patrons have been really liking it. If you loved the Foyle's War detective series on TV or DVD you already know Anthony Horowitz (he was the creator and writer of that series). The Book-A-Month Club gives you a chance to branch out and read something you may not have chosen yourself.
Popular fiction books right now include "The Music Shop" by Rachael Joyce, "Woman in the Window" by A.J. Finn and "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng. Stop in and ask us for a recommendation based on what you love to read.
